BOATING ONTARIO APPOINTED TO OTMPC SECTOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Janet Bauer, Boating Ontario CEO has been appointed to the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC), Sector Advisory Committee for a two-year term. OTMPC is an agency of the Government of Ontario with a vision to position Ontario as a preferred global destination. OTMPC works in collaboration with tourism partners to drive economic growth and job creation in the tourism industry, supporting 359,400 jobs and contributing $28 billion to Ontario’s economy. 

This includes recreational boating. OTMPC’s mission is to generate increased visitation by Ontario, Canadian and international tourists, enhance tourism expenditures in Ontario, and contribute to provincial economic prosperity through impactful marketing and results oriented investment partnerships. Meeting three times a year, the role and mandate of the Sector Advisory Committee is to provide OTMPC and its Board with market expertise and input for identifying industry priorities, issues, risks and opportunities as they arise; communicate trends across the sectors with a priority on experiences that align with OTMPC’s strategic directions and priorities and to communicate future market development activities and investments within the sectors. With recreational boating being recognized as a sector of the tourism industry, this appointment strengthens and enhances Boating Ontario’s advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational boating industry in Ontario.
